CWB T-Class 6G Structural Welding.
Specialized open-root SMAW welding capability for demanding structural steel connections and pipe pile welding — delivered on site across Toronto and the GTA.
Discuss your project
01 / Advanced field welding capability
Open-root welding. Jobsite ready.
Riconstruct has added a CWB 6G T-Class-qualified welding capability to support structural work requiring a high level of control over root penetration, joint preparation and weld progression.
The qualification test was performed on fixed pipe in the 6G position using an E6010 open root followed by E7018 fill and cap passes, all by the shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) process.
Actual project welds are completed under the applicable qualified welding procedure, material, thickness and inspection requirements.
02 / Qualification details
6G T-Class: Broad position coverage.
6G is a demanding fixed-pipe test position. The resulting qualification can cover flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead welding positions within the recorded qualification scope, but it does not independently authorize every process, material, thickness or project procedure.
03 / Structural applications
Where this capability matters.
T-Class qualification is especially relevant where the engineering detail calls for full-joint-penetration welding from one side without backing, subject to the approved welding procedure and job-specific scope.
Projects to discuss
- Round pipe pile splicing and foundation steel joints
- Specified open-root structural connections
- Bridge and infrastructure connection work
- Complex structural field welds with limited access
- Project-specific SMAW repair or alteration details
T-Class qualification does not mean every pipe pile splice is a T-Class weld. A project's approved drawings, weld procedures and inspection plan determine the required weld.
04 / Project planning
Send us the weld details.
To confirm the right welding resources for your project, send the site location, schedule, connection drawings, joint preparation, steel grade, wall thickness or plate thickness, weld procedure requirements and any inspection requirements.
Riconstruct brings field experience in shoring, piling and structural connections, backed by a fully mobile welding setup.

Good to know
Questions about T-Class welding.
Does 6G T-Class cover all welding positions?
6G is a broad all-position qualification. The positions and joint types covered depend on the applicable qualification standard and the welder's current qualification record.
Does it automatically qualify every structural weld?
No. The weld must also fall within the qualified process and applicable scope, and be performed to the appropriate approved welding procedure and project requirements.
Can Riconstruct support pipe pile splices?
Yes. Riconstruct works on round pile splices and other foundation connections. Send the pile size, wall thickness, drawings and specified weld detail to review the required approach.
